Hi, my name is Yasmine Tiana Goring.

I am a documentary filmmaker, and the founder of Uprooted, a storytelling medium used to explore how communities worldwide are displaced by systemic oppression.

My work centers on themes of housing, belonging, and the impact of capitalism on the global majority.

I’m currently available for speaking engagements.

I’m from Brooklyn, NY born and raised.

My first film 222 Macon St is a narrative documentary about gentrification that takes place on the 200 block of Macon Street in Bedford Stuyvesant, where my family owned and later sold a brownstone that was in our family for generations.

222 Macon Street positions itself within the context of global conversations about “gentrification” and asks the viewer to think about whether or not “gentrification” is the right term we should be using.
